Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My first group ride

Well today I had my first group ride, and I learned alot. We went 20 miles at 20mph. I pulled 4 times at around 1minute 15- 1 minute 30 each. Everyone did that. I felt really good after this ride, and am going to do it every monday and Wed. from now on.

Congrats. Group riding is definitely a blast. I'm assuming it was also your first drafting experience. Incredible feeling, isn't it?

I had ridden in a 2 person line before, but it was my first big draft. And yes it is awesome.

There is nothing like riding in a smooth running paceline. Just something about a group of 6 or more riders all working together to keep a high pace that just feels great.

Congrats. What part of Florida are you in? I live in Nashville but I travel to Destin a few times a year and I'm looking for some different routes to ride (other than down Hwy 98 toward PCB and back).
