9-5'ers, when do you ride?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

'fraid so.

When I ride in I've got a shower, locker and indoor storage for my ride though. Monday and Wednesday evenings are soccer for the kids from 6-8:30ish. Throw them in the shower and bed then I can ride from 9-11ish. Start again at 6.

I used to ride at lunch when I worked in Toronto but I've a shorter lunch here.

One of the best ways to do it is to form a group that meets early in the morning. We have a cycling group that meets each day during the week at 0545. At first I thought "No way in h*ll am I getting up that early", but then I thought, well, why not just commit to one week, and then I'd quit. Just one week. It only took three days to get hooked and I never quit.

We ride all year, winter and summer, light and dark. We all have lights for safety. There were a couple eight-day periods here in the Northeast with blizzards that kept us in, but cold and dark certainly doesn't.

But the point of my rambling is that if you form a *group*, then you feel obligated to show up, so participation is good.

HTFU.

Go to bed earlier and get up and ride. Sheesh, is this really that hard for you to figure out??

I know ... even 8 is fairly late. Seems like it's only shopping centre retail places that open as late at 9 am these days.

You know, some jobs only require that you get your work done and are not so picky about when you actually put inyour time.

The only thing harder than waking up early is going to sleep early.

Commute when I can, and train at lunch. Only ride on the weekend once/month or so unless I'm racing. I race Thu nights too.

Before work, sometimes 5:30 am to 6:00am start and finish depending on the day. Never in the evening, that's dinner time with the family and family comes first. Dinner time is the ideal time to connect. Riding can wait.
