Where should my spare change go? Upgrades or new bike savings?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Are bike upgrades worth it? So i bought the allez triple. I think that comes with 2300 or 2200 components. Should I save up to upgrade to 105 components if I plan on keeping the bike for a while or should I put that towards a newer better bike?

Ride it like you stole it for a while...your upgrade plans will come in later once you establish a ride habit.

1) Whats wrong with the 2200 that you have now? Not working right? Don't like the thumbshifters?

2) What kind of riding are you doing? Recreational? Training for Crits?

3) Personally, I'd start with a wheelset....maybe some Mavics or Souls.

Clothing, shoes, or accessories that you can move to your new bike. Only upgrade to replace things that have worn out. The first thing to wear will probably be the tires, so start doing some research to find the lightest and grippiest.
