Before and After Road Cycling... Pics

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Before and After Road Cycling... Pics

Me about a year and a half ago, then last month. I was probably about 320 in the first picture. I was 20 lbs heavier at my highest. Just thought I'd share what's possible with your bike.

Heh, yeah, still a Cubs fan, but not as hardcore as I once was. I follow cycling a lot more now. Seems that my obsession with riding has overtaken my obsession with the Cubs.

Dude you kick Jared's ass. Congrats. As soon as this friggin hernia operation heals, I'll be back on the bike. I lost a little (5 maybe) in the first 2 months of riding and was juuuuust beginning to really start shedding weight when I got laid up, about 3 weeks ago. I'm going to attempt a ginger test ride on Friday.

very nice! congratulations!

i bet you also started eating healthier too, diet and exercise are key. i've got the exercise, but my diet is utter crap right now. trying to eat healthy on a budget and with nearly zero time to cook is like trying to walk on water with bricks tied around your ankles.

That's a great success story. An inspiration. Do you have any loose skin problems after having lost all that weight?

Tell me more about your hernia op. I've got inguinal hernia and had it on my left side for almost a year now and I'm getting tired of pushing my gut back in every 5 minutes....on or off the bike. Such inconvinience. I'm getting it fixed soon. So how long have you been off the bike since the operation?

Here's my HERNIA! link from earlier this year:

I've got some before pics too, but I can't post them because they are too big...if that isn't the truth!!!! Too bad I can't figure out how to shrink them.

Holy crap! Congrats man. Too bad I don't need to lose any weight, otherwise I'd create a shrine to your pics in my garage. lol. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations! I have one concern about possible side effects of rapid weight loss. In the After photo: is that a shoe growing out of your head?

you mean a shoe growing out of his _owners head.

he went from being a 320lb cubs fan to being a little brown puppy.

god you're dense, james.

Great job! I find that even though you undergo such a major transformation you don't tend to really notice it until you stop, and look back a year ago.

(you deserve one)
