HELP! press-fit BB/crankset? (GIANT)

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

HELP! press-fit BB/crankset? (GIANT)

Im currently waiting for my Giant TCR Adv-- am wondering which cranksets are compatible? It is just the BB that needs to accomodate the press-fit... anyone know? Educate me, please.

If it's the BB86, you just need a crankset that's compatible with the bearings you put in it. You can definitely run GXP, which means any of the SRAM cranksets should work, and you can probably get a shimano BB. I'm running a SRAM S900 with a quarq cinqo on my tcr (GXP).

I am running a Scott CR1 with a shimano Dura Ace BB (BB86) with FSA Carbon cranks. I had to buy FSA BB86 press fit bearings and it works great.

So basically I'm limited to either SRAM, Shimano, etc. (No campy?). It doesn't require me to buy BB30? Would it work with a BB30? (Im asking because the SRAM Force BB30 is impressively light).

No, it's not a BB30 shell. BB86 =/= BB30. You have to use a BB86 press fit bottom bracket which I could only find (while working at a Giant dealer) in the Giant catalog. Go to your dealer and ask them to order it for you, should you need a new one. I'm running the stock FSA bottom bracket with a Dura Ace 7800 crank and it works fine.

The diameter of the internal part of the bottom bracket is the standard size. That said, any standard diameter crank (MegaExo, Hollowtech II, I don't know anything about campy) will work.
