Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Okay, I am shopping around and I have narrowed it down to a mere 6 bikes(and I a know the only way to chose is to ride em', but I had to whittle the number down first. I was looking at around $1400 or under and full ultegra. here's the run down:

Viner Competition, chrome fork, 9 spd sti., Bontrager Race wheelset

Douglas Fusion, 9 spd sti, velomax wheelset, Reynold Ouzo fork (slightly more than I wanted to spend)

Cinelli Proxima, 9 spd sti, Bontrager Race wheelset, carbon fork (not crazy about the compact frame look but it is slight on this frame)

Jamis Quest , 9 spd sti, Easton fork, Mavic Cosmos

I was going to put the Scattante, Felt50 CFR and Mercier Draco but the wheelsets scared me away as I ride hard and I am 6'0" 200 lbs.

Fuji Team might get on the list but it just doesnt have the sexy factor.

So right now I am leaning toward the Viner.

Your thoughts?
