Woo hoo!!!

Just pulled the trigger on a Black Anodized Cervelo S1. Now to wait a VERRRRRY long week to get it. Just had to share my excitement with someone. It'll be my first real road bike. Up til now it's all been commuters and mountain bikes for me.

I'm sure I'll have a bunch of questions as I move into this new world of cycling, so I'm looking forward to getting to know this forum much better soon.

Yippee,
me.

No picture (even if stock photo) = no bike

Farby 06-25-10 10:49 AM

Congrats, post up pics when you get it.

lpolliard 06-25-10 10:52 AM

Don't forget to read up on how to take a proper BF bike photo.

And I wish you good luck on getting all of it correct, even after researching the proper method!

I wasn't sure if pics of other people's bikes were the couth-ness in a thread like this, but here's a pic of someone else's Black Anodized Cervelo Soloist. :)

It's all Ultegra, including pedals with the Mavic Ksyrium ES wheelset. Excited!

Mekrob 06-25-10 10:55 AM

Technically, if you got the black anodized frame, you have a Soloist Team, not an S1. Either way, nice score.

So is it a complete bike or just the frame? Build specs?

lookingforcool 06-25-10 11:00 AM

You are correct - it would be considered a Soloist Team from back then. :)

It's a complete bike - specs above. I think I got a pretty good deal on it; psyched to get out there in the hills on a lighter bike finally!

He's a noobie; let's help him out.

1. In front of white garage door
2. Stem flipped down
3. Pedals at 3-9 position
4. Chain on big chainring and smallest cog
5. Remove dork disk and reflectors
6. Hide tube stems behind forks, seat stays
7. Drive side facing camera
8. Horizontal seat
9. No seat bags

I'm sure that there are others; please add.

Lookingforcool, nice bike. I've got a Cervelo - they are sweet bikes.

lookingforcool 06-25-10 11:07 AM

So clearly the image I snagged from the goog above is far from BF-worthy. I'll see what I can do to improve when my time comes. Hopefully whoever's garage I lean my bike up against doesn't get too pissed. Perhaps I'll find a white park bench to use.

I have one also. Great bike. A real workhorse...but fast. Mines all Ultegra and I have some Reynolds Assaults arriving next week.

3. I put the cranks behind the seat tube.
6. Stems go at the bottom (6 o'clock), they should be lined up with the labels on your tires so it looks better.
8. I wouldn't change your seat angle just for a picture.

Incorrect...the stem is to be left alone as to give BF members a chance to quip "Flip it!"

I think we'd say "flip it" regardless.

Thanks,

You will come to regret that soon enough.

No bike computer, Garmin, or GPS unless it counts watts. If that is the case you need to take closeups of the SRM crankset that you traded for your car.

The garage door should be white with no obvious mildew or green algae.

Do not have your dog or lady friend in the picture as they can be distracting.

Take the caps & nuts off of your presta valves.

Remove all warning stickers off of all carbon fibre products(ie forks)

ljholland 07-02-10 10:16 AM

Here's mine

Black Anodized Soloist Team
3T Ergosum Pro (Alum) Bars
Reynolds Assault Wheelset
Ultegra except for the R700 cranks
Speedplays
ISM Saddle

(and yes.....I know. FLIP the stem...but I'm too darn inflexible for that)

No water bottles.

Oh, and congrats on the new ride :thumb:
