Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fooge 1.75

Picked up my Fuji Roubaix today after it had been in the shop for a little over a month. I took it in to the bike shop at the beginning of August to have the mechanics there tension my rear wheel. I replaced the Ritchey wheels with Bontrager Race wheels in the beginning of July after my rear rim cracked. The shop manager noticed that my frame looked out of alignment, so he kept it for a day to check it. Sure enough, I had twisted it a little. Fuji would waranty the frame, but they wouldn't send a new one until they received the damaged one, so I left it at the shop on August 4th, and they sent the frame to Fuji. The new frame came in about two-and-a-half weeks later; when they were reassembling the bike, however, they discovered that the fork from the 03 Roubaix was not compatible with the 04 frame. It took until today for the shop to get a new fork. I now have a bike I call the Fooge 1.75. The only original parts on it are the deraileurs, shift/brake levers, cables, crankset and chain rings, bottom bracket, stem and handlebars. The frame and fork are new, of course, as are the wheels, and I also replaced the saddle and seatpost in July. It's almost like having a new bike.
