Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What Will I Buy (road bike)

here are the contestants.

https://www.kestrelbicycles.com/Road/TalonSL.aspx

or

build up the following with SRAM Force components (new)

https://www.kestrelbicycles.com/Frame...-Frameset.aspx

or

https://www.focus-bikes.com/gb/en/bik...g-ultegra.html

i have narrowed it down to these 3 options.

i will ignore the token "CAAD9 because the aluminum frame is so great...you can upgrade the components later" guy

i will also ignore the token "CAAD10" guy

these are my final choices. help me choose.

anyone know the focus cayo expert weight?

At that price point I'm sure there all good. I don't know much about the different frames, but the I like how the RT 900 SL looks.

Have you ridden the Focus? It is a no nonsense race machine so might ride a lot different than the Kestrel.
