I'll bet you have a point. Somehwere here.

dooodstevenn 06-29-10 12:05 PM

i remember seeing that same review posted a few days ago by someone else

bonz50 06-29-10 12:07 PM

ok, but does it go to 11??

wanders 06-29-10 12:07 PM

I didn't see it, sorry.

Fleabiscuit 06-29-10 12:27 PM

I love that easy-peel MADE IN TAIWAN sticker. Thankfully they put it in a place that is "easy" to spot, on the bb. Good to see Cannondale is proud of where they make their bikes. New owners can peel that sticker off and pretend their Cannondale is made in USA!

Nice!

Quel 06-29-10 12:29 PM

That's not a review. It's some industry pictures with an industry video. And someone already posted it. And I don't care if it's not made in the USA.

AlexTaylor 06-29-10 12:29 PM

It matters not to us Brits where the CAAD10 is made, as long as it's good!

teterider 06-29-10 12:30 PM

Uh, where's the review part in that link? All I see are the pics that everyone already knows about.

you should not care where it is made as long as the same people who engineer it have some oversight of the people who build it rather then sending off some blueprints.

check the new cervelo project cali video. the guy who engineers takes part in building and testing, all in house work.

i think this comment is spot on and it's pretty sad. and about the extensive expertise part, i'm sure they do but that does not mean they are utilizing it. i feel quality suffers for quota.

"The romanticism associated with “Handmade in the USA” comes to a whimpering end. Why? Taiwanese workers aren’t destroying company profit margins via organized cri… er… labor unions and/or exorbitant compensation/benefits demands. They also have, bar none, the most extensive expertise in the world when it comes to building aluminum and carbon bicycle frames. That’s why even the high browed Italianoes are moving their beloved brands over here. If Ernesto Colnago can suck it up, then u definitely need to get over yourself."

Does that mean my 9 is obsolete?

And damn, they cut 200 grams off the 9? That's almost half a pound of a frame that you can easily build a 16-17 lb bike on.

no it means the 9 is in higher demand.

baribari 06-29-10 01:04 PM

If the 105 version isn't cheaper than the CAAD9 was, considering the cheaper new groupset, and the cheaper Taiwanese labor, it's not going to be worth it.

Phantoj 06-29-10 01:22 PM

There was some talk on the other thread about this about the welds not being ground anymore.

I dunno, the welds still look pretty smooth to me.

Whoa, I was totally unprepared to see Cannondale using BB30.

JRonaTrek 06-29-10 02:40 PM

i love the fact that my 2007 has the "hand made in the USA" still on it.....

I know that this is a stretch, but do you have any idea how businesses work?

I was joking, but why would the 9 be in higher demand? Used market?

Maybe they'll keep making the 9 and the 10 will get the better groupsets.

I'm talking about from a consumer standpoint. If it isn't going to cost the same or less than the American-made CAAD9 that came with a groupset that cost more, it isn't going to be as good of a value.

I have a business degree, by the way.

yea i was kiiiinda joking too. but i guess they are making the caad8 and 10. maybe out of respect for the 9. the last of the 9's will be cherished because they are the last to be made in the US, but no way in hell they will go up in value.

Nah you got your math the other way round. It's about 1/10th of a lb.
