Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Rivendell Hillborne or VO Randonneuer?

Looking for a nice lugged frame for an all-'rounder. Fattish tires, relatively high bar, rack on the back, fenders.
Rivendell has a good reputation but they only offer the Hillborne in 4 sizes, presumably for cost reasons. Even so, they just bumped the price up to $1250!

I've dealt with Velo Orange in the past (small parts) and always been happy.

What say you?
