The new BMC Impec

What they can do with their carbon machine sounds promising, but what's the deal with the Shell Node Concept? I'm not sure I understand how those are better than traditional lugs.

wheelgrabber 07-02-10 05:42 AM

Ugliest ride I've seen for while. I'd need beer goggles to go with her.

Namenda 07-02-10 05:46 AM

Looks like it was made in the Lego factory.

VA_Esquire 07-02-10 06:13 AM

I like it. I didnt see them state a price tho, but I just skimmed through the article.

Great review :)

I prefer the clean look of nano tubes to weave.

JoelS 07-02-10 06:37 AM

I like it. Bet it'll be pricey.

Guillotine007 07-02-10 06:46 AM

BMC is like the Apple of bikes to me. I'd ride anything they put out....can't afford a thing though :(

The choice of red accent for the seatpost, handlebar tape, and lugs/shells/SNC is highly unfortunate.

Makes it way uglier than it is.

enjoi07 07-02-10 11:23 AM

i love it and can not wait to see it in black/white or all black.

Miami Dave 07-02-10 11:39 AM

Don't like it but hey I guess they are those that will. Personally, I find the Racemaster to be the sexiest bike they make. This one is just a bit over-engineered. The tube shapes are nice but the lugs and the angles they were cut at are distracting, not to mention red. Maybe, it would look drastically different if the whole frame was white or a solid color so that you could appreciate the lines of the bike rather than breaking it up. The seat stay/seat tube junction is pretty awesome looking and sticks to their heritage of using architectural elements in their frames.

what a hideous dog of a bike.

Looks more and more like a plastic toy. Add those Specialized Roval Star wheels and it would be completely idiotic looking.

Agreed. With a decent white/black scheme it could look ok. As it is, it makes me think of this which is a new (and hideous) brand that's appeared in the UK:

I think it looks really good. It's very BMC.

ultraman6970 07-02-10 03:41 PM

Yes looks very very BMC, in a matter of fact it looks like an upgrade to the original model with lugs. I like it.

ps: wonder if evans will blame the new bike. If he does i can take it forever from his hands

mrvile 07-02-10 06:59 PM

I like it. At this point it really is starting to get over-the-top, but that's what I love about BMC's. Even the red. It's just a ridiculous looking bike.

PM87 07-02-10 07:01 PM

Looks pretty nice - love the attention to detail BMC puts into their work. Looks finely crafted.

go4gr8 07-02-10 07:02 PM

I like it too. Not sure if I'd love it because the part lines look a bit fragile.

chado445510 07-02-10 07:07 PM

I think it looks good. Definitely diggin' the carbon weave.

roadiejorge 07-02-10 08:07 PM

Interesting. I like it but not in that color scheme.

Yellowbeard 07-02-10 08:24 PM

The photographer made some...interesting angle choices. Every picture there that shows the whole frame has something red behind the red parts of the bike. Makes it look terrible.

hansel 07-02-10 09:10 PM

love the looks, typical bmc. cant wait to see one in person

BarracksSi 07-02-10 10:35 PM

I like how the visible weave is actually "THE" weave, in that it's not just a cosmetic layer, but instead that's how it comes out of the machine. Cool.
