Fried oreos.

RT 07-04-10 06:53 PM

I suspect this is true. I feel better after eating at least four waffles about an hour before a good ride.

NathanC 07-04-10 06:56 PM

Same, but Tim Tams.

You're trying to drive pcad over the bend, aren't you?

patentcad 07-04-10 06:59 PM

Whatever you do, don't leak this secret to the 33. It would be curtains for us all.

I'm only around the hill. I am however, over the bend.

Oreos are delicious. I mostly do Newman-Os to avoid the HFCS, but same principle. My kryptonite.

Now that sounds like my kind of training regimen, and it looks like I have been on it for quite some time.

I'm pretty sure that's what Oreos are sweetened with. Practically everything mass-market is. Having a bit should be ok though - I seem to work best when I get some Wheaties Fuel, and that has it. I'll be cutting it out in mid-October when race season ends and focus on raw fitness for a few months.

asmallsol 07-04-10 07:28 PM

They do not.

I watch my sugar intake and will not eat HFCS. It isn't that hard once you start reading the labels.

Oh good god. No, sorry, I would have cleared that up if I understood what you were asking.

i feel the same way about a glass of wine the night before a ride, so maybe i'll eat 10 oreos and wash it down with a glass of Merlot or Pinot Noir the night before my next ride and see how it works out...

hammy56 07-04-10 08:37 PM

^^^hey why not...I had some grolsch with my pasta and oreos. ftw.

c_bake 07-04-10 09:26 PM

A friend turned me on to Oreo's at about 95 miles into a 120 mile ride once. I had bonked so we stopped, bought a pack along with a Bing energy drink and I was a new man. Now I carry Oreo's in my jersey instead of Figs. I just did a 7 day bike tour and instead of eating what they provided,( PB&J's, fruit etc...)most of which I never eat on rides, I stuck with Oreo's and finished strong every day. My buddy always drinks a Coke too, at some point on longish rides, swears by it.

I drank a Pepsi at around mile 100 of a 114 mile ride, and it was like drinking jet fuel.

Oreos don't really do much for me. I can eat an entire package in a day, and the only thing I feel the next day is my feet getting tingly from my circulation going to crap. But they do taste good.....Doublestuff, of course.
