How long do your SPD-SL cleats last?
 

Just curious. I've got a set at 15 months an it's still working fairly well, albeit somewhat looser.

18 months, and roughly 10K kms on that pair of shoes [other bike is SPDs], but I walk a bit and never use any covers. having said that, they should have been changed a couple of months ago but just never got around to it. They still work but are completely worn.

Not long enough. I'm apparently hard on mine. Maybe 2K miles. I don't even walk in them much. No worse than other cleats though, and they do run the cheapest. Not only do they start to develop additional play when worn, but they are also harder to get into, and even begin to develop a propensity for a false clip in, which is always the last straw for me.

I usually get about 2K as well. Much after that and they either begin to get stuck on occasion or develop more play(The cleat I put my foot down with begins to stick and the cleat on the other side always develops a lot of play).

About 6 months. I replace them not long after the wear indicator tells me to, before they start giving me problems. They do get walked on quite a bit, I suppose.

14 Months almost 5000 miles, I walk in them quite a bit. Actually last month I bought the replacements already, and then I read the "When to replace" bit, and mine is almost at the replace indicator, so I think I can put another 1k miles on them.

I've been keeping mine on life support for three years now. I keep adding blobs of Shoe Goop to the little yellow pads as they wear down. Admittedly, they have loosened up a bit, but I've tightened up the tension on the pedals to compensate.

I think it's about time to pull the plug, and install new ones.

11 months 4100 miles and i was just thinking about replacement. I walk a lot on them with no covers. Can still get some use out of them, but will have new ones on hand.

A very long time. I track stand at lights and avoid long walks.

When I need to move about off the bike, I scoot around on my buttoxx.

Shimano cleats are so much better then look cleats.I have resently switched from shimano to look,my shimano cleats are still ok after 2 years.My keo cleats are shot after 3 months.Thinking of going back to shimano pedals,look have crap cleats squeak if its cleats wear or if it rains.My shimano's have only one weakness they are so heavy compared to my keo max.

I'm glad you asked this because I was just about to search on the subject. Mine lasted about 14 months after 1500 or so miles, which was a little bit less than what I expected. They worked well for that time, so I don't feel too bad about it.

Does anyone else replace one at a time? I always put my right foot down at stops, and that cleat wears a lot faster. I only replace my left cleat every other time I replace my right.

A long time.

Mine usually last a season (15000+ km) and I put a fresh set on at the beginning of the season weather I need them or not. I thought about rotating them, but they are only $20 to replace. I keep the good old one in case I break one.

I just changed mine after 2,000 miles. I wasn't too careful about walking on them at first. I expect this pair to last longer.
