Just curious. I don't know much about power yet, so when they make their respective claims to '899' and '800', what do you think they are talking about?
I'm curious because some people on this forum have talked about 1600 watt efforts etc. and I think they are amateur or semi pro racers. I guess I thought the top tier guys would be higher - but maybe it's because these are smaller guys and they don't need the wattage as much?

Usually those small GC guys can't sprint. But they can hold 400W at threshold.
So yeah, I could beat contador or schleck in a sprint, but they'll ride circles around me going up a climb

out walking the earth
you're high if you think you can beat either of those guys in a sprint. any guy at that level does everything better than any of us.

So the turtle was right - slow and steady wins the race - at least going up hill ha ha.
So what's a Cavendish putting out in the last 200 to the line?

stole your bike
I like it
I suspect most of us in the 41 would look like we're standing still in a sprint against one of the pros.

Speedy Gonzalez. That's all we could think of.
I wish they'd play this ad a bit more and skip some of the Lance ones. I don't mind the RadioShack ones (at least they change them up). The Ultra, Nissan (although I have one, albeit not a Leaf), and whatever else ones, I could do without.

As far as I know, Contador doesn't speak English. Well, almost everyone on earth speaks a bit of English these days, but that might account for the funny accent. I thought it was a pretty cool ad as well, when it came on among the ridiculous Road ID and Transitions lenses spots.

Something about the way Schleck says "Yeah, I remember waiting for you" after Contador says his best time on Ventoux cracked me up.

Well... there's the climbing, and the time-trialing, and the winning of the grand tours. A few people take him seriously.
I like the ad and the image of Andy Schleck eating a deep-fried turkey and punching a bear. I suspect it would be even funnier if I was a bear.

Contador speaks English, just not very well. He's been interviewed by Vs a couple times so far. Seems to understand everything but has to think pretty hard to respond. That high nasal voice is even more alarming when every 3 words he stops to 'eeeeeehhh', it's actually really annoying to the point of distraction. Seems like a good kid though.
I was surprised the first time I heard him speak, I'd always heard he refused to do interviews in a language other than Spanish because he was afraid of missing some nuance in what he said and having it blow up. Maybe he's relaxed now that the Lance Vs Contador thing seems to have simmered down.
