Specialized Team Geometry and Stem Size

Recently purchased a 58cm Team Geometry frame.

My current top tube on the bike I have been riding is 560.5 mms with a stem of 120 mm.

The team geometry frame I bought has a top tube of 582 mm

Should I go with a 100 MM stem on the new frame to compensate on the longer toptube?

Sounds logical.

I have found with my limited knowledge that logical goes out the window in the bicycle world. I have a fitting scheduled for my old bike next week. I already had one done but I wanted to get it rechecked by another fitter. Going to show up with the new one instead.

Here is where all those people who said "I'm never going to need to know this in real life" during math classes are eating their words. Basic trigonometry, you can figure out exactly what length stem would match the same reach.

I took business calculus and stats....i hate math....

Provided you FIRST establish a perfect plumb and level frame of reference and measure everything as plumb and level triangles starting from the bottom bracket.

for one thing, you'll bike will handle differently assuming everything else (wheelbase) is similar. also, don't forget to take stem angles into consideration

Doesn't have to be perfect, just within an acceptable error range.
