Don't ride through gum.
Yuck. It was nice and gooey thanks to the crazy heat. It's on both tires, the frame, the spokes, the hubs, and the gears. And I have a race tomorrow.

A little bit of WD40 will get that right off. Don't get that stuff on your tires though...and make sure you wipe it off pretty quickly.

Already gone. No pics, sorry. A little simple green and a lot of grumbling was all it needed.

Gum, the worst thing that I hit on a ride that didnt give me a flat...nothing like after hitting the gum until it attracts rocks and other stuff on the road, cah-ching cah-ching etal against carbon and bumpty bump... Another suck is paint from a freshly painted roadside...for other reasons.

I used goo gone to remove some nasty gum I got on my tires, frame, and cranks. after I removed the gum off the tire I wiped off all the goo gone with a wet towel.

I stepped in some tar last week. It was a hot day and I was out on this country road in the middle of nowhere. I unclipped to look at a deer. Got tar all over my cleat and in my pedals. No more float. Still can't quite get that cleaned up. May have to just get new cleat.
