Just had a baby shower end today for a friend and another literally jusy gave birth a few hours ago....so... congrats!

The only time I've seen it be an issue is at the observatory at the top of Mt Hamilton. The floor is very nice stone (marble?) and there are a lot of cyclists who stop there, so they have signs outside asking you to please take off your cycling shoes if they have metal cleats.

You're allowed to walk into any convenience store with clanking PLASTIC cleats as long as you perform a Gene Kelly number, modified with a taste of Bollywood.

A woman came on a ride with our club and she slipped and fell at a Macdonalds. She sued Micky D and she sued our club because we told her to go there. That's LA for ya. |
If you have metal cleats clacking on the floor, do the store owner a favor and wear cleat covers.

I've had a number of managers, clerks, owners look down at my clicking shoes. Assuming that they are concerned about damage, I just tell them that they are covered to prevent floor damage. It's only being considerate.
