Tidy Cables

I have seen a few things on here about cleaning your cables. Is their a way to organize cables so they don't look all over the place?

Measure them better. Most bikes I've ever bought had cables a few inches too long and that makes a huge difference in appearance.

This is what I do! No other way to manage cables besides cutting them at proper length.

For the OPS specific need... are your brake cables exposed or internal? Not much can be done for Shimano's previous incarnations...

Yeah, you know what I mean... I'm not even gonna edit my post. Thats just the upstanding citizen I am. :D

Although, me excluded, thats the 3rd time this week I've read someone fouling that simple distinction up....strangely disturbing.

Have a picture?

I have mine similar to umd's. Crisscross the shift cables on the downtube. I've also got both brake and shift cables running behind the bars. However, they're intertwined, because I had them differently, and recently changed them without redoing the cables. It doesn't affect shifting or braking though. To top it off, I use bits of electrical tape to keep the computer wires clean.

Maybe they're talking about a picture of the crossing cables on the downtube? (I don't know if your bike has internal shift cables).

However, the most important thing is correct cable length. With my setup I have, an extra inch of rear brake of shifter cable sticks out, and looks weird. I had to trim my brake cable recently, because of that.

I have one somewhere but can't remember where. Anyway, it's easy enough to use your imagination. The cables just cross under the downtube.

umd, ignore Im at work, pictures blocked.
