Question on Shorts and Padding "creeping"

Got a question about cycling shorts. Anyone have problems with the padding creeping forward so that its not resting where it should be during your rides?
It seems that whenever I put my shorts on... even with bibs... The first 10 mins of my ride are great...but then after that, it starts to turn sour as I can feel that the padding has creeped forward and is not on my "sits bones" / where it should be.

Is all the padding in shorts the same width? I doubt my shorts are too large I have a 36 waist and wear "L" shorts. Could they be too small?
Anyone have ANY ideas what it could be? Any suggestions on "new" shorts... maybe gel? I have a pair of primal wear shorts and a set of bibs and shorts, unsure of mfg but they were given to me when I rode with "athletes for a cure". It gets to the point where it really takes the wind out of me and I am struggling to get through 30 miles because my a$$ is killing me.

Thanks!

There are many factors affecting the creeping of your pads. One of them is that the shorts are too small...if you are a 36", then you fall into the XL sizing in bike shorts.

Your saddle could also be a little too far forward and you are pushing away from your handlebars...it could also mean that you are cramped in too small a bike. You saddle could also be tilted down too much and forcing you to try and push back.

Try looking at your position and fit on the bike and make adjustments.

You must not be using the special glue that keeps the padding in contact with the "right patch" of skin.

or " his bibs are the ones you were 'inside ou't so the padding has direct contact with the saddle and won't slide"

maybe I'll try riding like that saturday and see what the people in my group say!?!? HA!

Will definitely see about the bike fitting...

Seriously, sounds like a sizing problem (with the bibs). The right size of decent quality bibs should fix it.
I wouldn't try the "gel padded" shorts. I did before and they were horrible.
