Felt Bikes ??
Does anybody know anything about these Felt Bikes that I'm hearing about ? They look great . I've heard that Felt made nice frames . Has anyone dealt with the complete Felt bike ? Any model .

I have asked some felt questions and the reply that I got was the eat tube was too short and the top tube to long. But it fit my body well and I was impressed with the ride. Every one says avoid aluminum but this bike was very comfy and winked at me when i went by too. Needless to say my Felt 65 with full 105, mavic rims ......... for less than a grand is sitting on lay away right now.

I was in hopes of hearing good reviews of FELT . Good looking bike at a good price (now) . Best thing I can do is go get on one and see for myself . LBS does not have them .(no one in Tampa)
Only two shops in Florida . I'd have to leave the county to find one . I hope it's worth it the sixty mile trip one way . Thanx Sterling. |
Good luck with the felt pistol. I had to drive an extra 40 minutes to get to my closest dealer.

Hey Pistolwhipped,
I work at one of those 2 in Florida. PM me! I'm in Sarasota and it's only about 1 hour South of Tampa Airport! We have two shops, one in Sarasota and one in Bradenton. Both called Village Bike Shop (however the Bradenton store just changed names and is a.k.a. 59th Street Bicycles) Anyways, they are very nice bikes and very affordable, plus they look great! There paint is very clean and is a very sharp looking bike! We've got two models one is under $600 and the other is under $800. Granted, they don't compare to the $3000+ Kestrel we have, but for the money they're a great deal! We carry Cannondale, LeMond, Kestrel & only recently FELT! The problem was that C'Dale & others didn't have a decent "entry-level" bike and we were losing customers that didn't want to spend $1,000 to "just get started". We picked up the Felt brand and we were very impressed with it! We also utilize a "fit-kit" to properly size you to the bike! A nice feature many shops don't have! Also, while you're down here, you could check out our competition! Other shops in town carry Trek, Specialized, & Giant to name a few, so it may make it worth you while to spend a whole day taking test rides! Like I said, PM me and I'll give you some prices & sizes we have in stock! L8R |
Pistolwhipped, Let me know how you make out with the felts. Sterling

You bet !
Size may be a problem . I've exchanged PM's with a2psyklnut .(thank you) I'm also looking at a Trek 1200 (2001) that a LBS has at a savings to me . I really like the looks of these FELT bikes . I'll show and tell ASAP . |
I just bought a Felt F65 yesterday, that's why I was looking for message boards today :D
This is my first road bike. I "upgraded" from a mountain bike that I had bought from a friend for $150. It didn't fit me well, and I never was able to ride very long on it without getting fatigued very quickly. My usual trip on the mountain bike was 3 miles and it took 20 minutes. The second time out on the Felt I rode 6 miles and it took 25 minutes. When I got back I didn't feel nearly as fatigued as I had on the mountain bike in half the distance! Don't laugh at the short trips :D I'm using the bike to get in shape and lose weight. I weight 190 and am only 5'7". I have come down in the past 8 months or so from 250 and I'm feeling a lot better. Anyway, I love the Felt, I went to the shop wanting to spend about 500-600 and ended up spending 900 on the model I really liked:D I figure it's an excellent investment and I've blown money on worse things in my life that's for sure. |
All the people that I have asked at my LBS has heard of FELT bikes, I made a point to ask most of them. I live in Canada where FELTs are not exported to. But I would have a expected them to have at least heard of them. They do seem quite knowledgable in most other areas!

As a follow up, I wanted to add that the owner of the shop where I work, sold his Cannondale F3000 in order to get a Felt F45, with the full Ultegra groupo.
Talk about a sharp looking bike! Paint and decals are clean and great looking! Heck, for the price of the groupo and the wheels, you get the whole bike! I'd definately consider buying one of these if I didn't just get a new LeMond in November. They ride very nice, smooth and no flex, even when hammering! I recommend looking into them if in the market for a new road bike! www.feltusa.com/F45R.html L8R:beer: |
I have a SR71.
