After 6 Years...The Tete...is Done.

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's a clearcoat with a tint applied. A friend had a Tete custom painted to match his M3 and used a blue tinted clearcoat over the naked carbon. The look is awesome.

"Unique" doesn't even start to describe it. It may induce seizures if looked at in bright sunlight!

I'm not familiar will all of these people and their relationships with one another. What does Sacha White have to do with the person who was taking years to paint your frame? And why did Sacha get involved in this at all?

Wow the cows have come home and hell has frozen over.

Congrats on the paint and maybe in 6 more years we will see some build out pics.

Sweet paint.

Glad to hear the lost child finally made it back home to Daddy, even if it does signal the end of an era.

Veruh nize, veruh nize indeed!

some manufacturer designs get trashed in here, and while its good to get your frame back, this is beyond.

It looks remarkably like a Van from the 70's...you only need to add a waterfall and some half naked women...

BTW you are gravely missed around here..hope all is well in your life.

55/Rad - the frame is beautiful. Another part of the story draws to a close, eh?
I was just starting to lurk the forums when the saga started, and I remember quite a lot of the conversation.

The news that you seem to be well, and have a wonderful partner is fantastic to hear... Your calmness and thoughtfulness are missed around here, but I wish you all the best in everything you have in front of you now.

Glad you finally got the frame back... Let's see, in the same amount of time, I managed to finish graduate school, start a new career, move to another state, get married, buy a house, have a son, and ride about 30k miles.

Like so many others, this was the only reason I logged every 6 months or so. I can now check this off my list.

Congrats Rad!

There's probably a can of worms that can be opened as to why it took as long as it did. I just hope you're really happy w/ the end result AND the price you had to pay for it.

In the meantime, I've been happily riding my 55cm Tete for 5 years, but have aged gracefully into 57cm frames (my creaky old back thanks me for the taller head tube) -- so if you want another project....

You are the master of the cryptic comment. What the heck does that mean? You're riding 'bents now?

I've always appreciated the honesty of your threads - whether it was over difficult things in your life or happy ones (my favorite was the thread on the cross-like bike you build for your son). Glad to see the Tete is where it belongs. Gotta build it up, man. Even if it's as the world's most over the top fixie.

I'm also digging the 70's low rider scheme the paint has.
Very cool.
Gonna be tough matching the components though. Maybe some gold tint on some carbon wheels.
