Easton ec90slx vs Alpha Q GS30 fork
Hello all, I posted a couple of months ago asking for advice on picking a first road bike...I ended up getting a 2010 CAAD9-6 frame with Dura Ace 7700 components and shimano WH-R561 wheels...love the bike so far, but am interested in ditching the heavy stock Ultra fork. Through some research I've narrowed it down to the ec90slx and the alpha Q gs30 forks...Both seem to be pretty lightweight (300-325grams) and very stiff. I was wondering if there was anything about either fork that should sway me to choose one over the other?
Cliff notes:
CAAD9, want to upgrade fork
Easton ec90slx vs Alpha GS30 fork
looking for weight loss with close to stock stiffness
I am 5'8" and 155lbs, and ride for fun/fitness/looking to get into crit racing possibly before the end of the summer.
so what would everyone recommend?

Based on your use I don't see any reason to upgrade your forks. It won't make riding more fun, won't improve your fitnesss and isn't going to impact your crit results.

The EC90 SLX is crazy light, but not known for its stiffness for sure.
Probably the most pointless upgrade in your situation, either way. Get a nice fluid trainer and hammer through the winter.

EC90SLX is IMO useless......Well...Might be OK if you're crazy light and use
crazy light wheels and hardly ever turn and do not do crits
Want to upgrade? Go for the aero fork. Stiff and gives you the same
aero advantage as a good 50mm wheel..Not very forgiving thou

It's tough selling quality when peeps keep selling crap looking just as good and claiming it is as well.
I've had the GS 30 fork. Excellent fork with some aero qualities as well.
