New Crud Roadracer Mk2 Mudguards
Fitted them today and had a good 2hr ride in the pouring rain. Latter half was on muddy country lanes.
I was a big fan of the originals but had a couple of issues (coverage near to drivetrain and at the back for group rides). These issues have been addressed. Initial impressions are that they are even more fantastic, the extra coverage works really well! No crap on the drivetrain or me. If they last as long as the originals then I will be a happy boy indeed.
I will be using them on a group ride tomorrow, I'll report how they went.
Fit limited clearance bikes just as well as the originals -
A couple of views of the bit that protects the drivetrain -
More coverage at the back
There's no details yet on the Crud website though -
https://www.crudproducts.com/
Best price I found was here (there is an eBay seller slightly cheaper but that seller has a very bad rep in the UK)

It's a 24mm (Vittoria Open Pave), they'll cope with 25mm according to Crud...

I go to school up in Portland, so I've been looking for nice full fenders for my race bike. Everyone seems to agree Mr Cruds are the nicest ones you can get for bikes without eyelets and low clearance, but it is a real pain to find a dealer for the US! Anyone know what's up with that? Just now I tried to get the new Mk2's and one UK site said they weren't available to ship to the USA. As far as I know, if you have a road bike without eyelets you can either get clip-ons (like raceblades) or Mr Cruds, and clip-ons don't have as much coverage. You'd think Mr Crud would do well to have a dealer in the US...
Anyway, thanks for the review. I'd heard some complaints about the first generation. Are these newer ones easier to mount? I remember that being another problem as well.
Difficulty in ordering in the states put me off, but I think I'm gonna make the effort to get a pair of these now. Full coverage is exactly what I need.

I had no probs mounting them, just a little bit of fine tuning once they were on. But then again, I'm used to it from the Mk1s... They were no trickier than the Mk1s.
They have only just come out here, so I'm sure they will be available in the US soon.

I use the originals with 25 mm Open Corsas and they do fit without rubbing. It's good to see the improvements!
JB
Edit: I got mine from a UK dealer, Ribble Cycles (www.ribblecycles.co.uk) for just under $40 shipped.

Yes, you're right. For those wondering, there is an official dealer in the US, though they only have the first gen for now: https://www.crudusa.com/product/27
Looks like there are some ebay sellers with the Mk2's as well.

Went out on club run with about 15 guys today. We went through all sorts of cr@p including freshly laid cow sh1t. We also had plenty of rain. No complaints whatsoever from me and none from the guys behind.
They are a definite winner!!

I saw these on the PBK RSS feed, they're good for shipping to the US: https://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=A1672

They look better, but they still have the annoying screw-on tails which are really prone to falling off. Check your nuts!

I just got a pair of the originals and thought they were pretty terrible. The front wouldn't fit without on the bike at all and the back rubbed on the tire like crazy no matter how much I adjusted it. This was on a Cervelo S1 with the 24mm Vittoria Open Paves.
Edit: Forgot to add that while the rear fender did keep my back from getting wet, it did nothing to stop spraying people behind me.

They fitted OK on my S2 with Open Paves... :s
The Mk2s (very successfully IMO) address the issue you pointed out about spraying the people behind.
In the 10 months I used my Mk1s I never lost a nut!

A couple of weeks down the line and I'm appreciating these even more.
The weather has been rubbish here in England, the country lanes are covered in crap.
No loose bolts, only needed to give the rear a shove after changing tyres.
Top stuff!!

As noted - bike is toooo clean.
I bought them for my winter/water bike, an '03 Trek 2300. No go. Too tight.

Hit the 1000 mile mark with these now. Ridden century sportives that involved a lot of mud filled country lanes, bits of gravel singletrack and some of the worst summer rain that we've seen in Britain.
They've been fantastic!
Not needed adjusting and have kept the bike and me nice and clean. They have been doing very well over here in Britain...

Alex,
How much clearance do you have btwn the top of your brake caliper & the tyre? Mine has a hard time fitting and i had to chop off quite a bit of stuff to make it fit.
Photo of my bike with Mk1
oh, and the nut on the rear got loose & i lost a portion of the flap...

One thing I learned while fitting the 1st generation fenders, is that cinching the wire tie at the brake too tightly can cause the front edge of the fender to rub the tire. So when tweaking your fit, the wire tie needs a little "play" so that the fender doesn't get bent in a way that causes it to rub. BTW, I use these with a '08 Specialized Allez (49cm frame). As for durability, the screws on my front fender started coming loose towards the end of last season. I've since replaced them with real hardware.

Those look ideal for me. Does anyone know where I can get them in Canada?

" Dittio" Installed mine on my Fuji Singlespeed last week. Ready now for winter's onslaught. Several rides and they seem to be working ( fitting) just fine.

Dunno about there but if you have any missing broken parts over here Crud will replace them free of charge as long as you provide a postage paid envelope!
Fogvillelad, quick hose down after a muckr ride but the mudguards (errr, fenders) help a lot...

stole your bike
I'm using the SKS Raceblade but I'm really tempted to try the Mr Crud fenders but the only thing is I'd like to remove them for the dry days and not relegate one of my bikes just for rain duty....hmm.
