Some dudes actually have a cooler in their vehicle so they get started right after the rides!
I always crave cider after a ride. But good decently-priced cider is hard to come by here in NC. Samuel Smith's when it is on sale...

88 miles yesterday and the first thing I did when I walked in the front door was crack open a beer!

Can't think of a better reason to choose beer. After all, don't they call it a cold one.. It's not a craving. !. After a club ride, it's more like a ritual.
/ . Should I not be in the mood for a brewski, I'd say my next favorite choice is cold, cold 1% milk.. Often , if it's hot and a long ride, I might down a whole quart.

i have a fully stocked mini fridge in my garage where my rides end, cold beer is a well earned indulgence after a hot ride.

lol, when I ride I use Amino Vital Endurance with extra scoop of BCAA + glutamine. Every so often I do crave a beer after a hard work out, but I just feel that I would be wasting all the hard work by introducing alcohol to my system.

If a beer is going to destroy your "hard work", you're not working hard enough.

Beer is a great motivator toward the end of a ride. But when I am finally home off the bike I first want water, sugar and salt. Then beer.

It should be noted that in that beer study I linked to, they do say that a sports drink was shown to be the best recovery drink.
