I believe it's only sold over in Europe. And since I know some of the modern consoles have different thingymadoos (I have no idea what is different) they can only play games that are coded in a way that it works with their thingymadoo. A mod chip may work, but those pretty much void any warranty you have.

Hooray for bringing back old threads!
I was in London a little more than a week ago and held in my hands a copy of the TDF game. I was very disappointed to be told that it wouldn't work on my US Xbox. <sigh>
Apparently there is a "Cycling Manager 4" game on Amazon's UK site. It's for PC so it should run over here. Now to see if an Amazon GC I received as a Christmas gift will work on the UK site... and how much international shipping costs!

Booo!!! Amazon.co.uk won't ship video games to the US. Stupid rules!
There are ways to get around the problem, I suppose (family and friends "across the pond").

We (The Ride Magazine) reviewed Cycling Manager 4 a few months ago, off the top of my head, nothing very spectacular and a few annoying glitches led the reviewer to reccomend simply buying race vids...

Meh, I guess pinky's comment rains on my parade. Thanks for the eBay link, though. I may still take it up, but I have all these GC's still left over from Xmas.

Awesome! I'm downloading the demo this moment. Finding time to play it... another story.

It would be cool if you could hook this game up to a trainer somehow. The reason I took up cycling was because I looked up from "The Legend of Zelda" and realised I was a fat turd, this is just a devious ploy to suck me back in again.

Before I got into cycling all I did was play video games.
So naturally I bought cycling manager when I heard about it.
I highly enjoy the game, but its not for everyone. The demo isn’t going to have the correct names of the teams and riders (licensing issues) but people put out third party databases with updated and more realistic stats, correct images, and correct names for free.
You can order the game here I believe:

I'm fairly certain that US games will not play on UK consoles. I imagine some do -- the fellows at the shop in London told me some UK games play on US consoles (but not the TDF game <sigh>).

US games don't play on UK consoles and vice versa.
It has to do with frame rates on TV's and such. You can use a hack program if you have a CD burner and a PC to convert the video and then use a mod chip to play the game. Let me tell you that I bought the TDF game while I was in Ireland and went to all of this trouble and the game is terrible. Not worth the bother. I know they were coming out with a centenary version and don't know if they change it enough to be worth the bother. It's like an old pole position game. Where you start all the way in the back and need to try to pass everyone before the end.

I'm really busy these days so I don't know when I'll get a chance the CM4, scotsman. The installation file sits tantalizingly on my PC's desktop...
