Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Soul C5.0 vs. Neuvation C50c's

I'm closing in on saving 1k for some wheels and I'm looking at these two and am kinda stuck.

Soul C5.0 1180 shipped 20 front 24 rear 1465g

Neuvation C50c 927 shipped 20 front 24 rear 1600g

So there is a trade of in weight vs cost here I'm leaning towards the Neuvations but it changes from day to day. What would you pick.

Edit: rider weight is 147, I ride mostly for tri's/rec but I like going faster and it is very flat where I live.

Go with the Soul's. I've had bad luck with Neuvation. Or, contact PSIMET and ask him for a quote.

IIRC, Neuvation uses the same Gigantix rims that Psimet would use. So I'd look into him if you were going to go with Neuvation. I think Soul uses a different rim (?), but not sure if it's better or worse.

I've got around 8,000 miles on my Neuvation C50Cs and they still going strong. IMO, I would contact Psimet and get a quote from him, he uses the same rims, but you'll be getting better hubs than neuvation.

The Soul Prodigy hubs are very good hubs and comparing Soul's new 50mm clinchers to my Neuvations, the Soul wheels are a lot stiffer side to side, but at ~140#, I've never had my wheels hit the brake pads while sprinting.

I too have C50's, no issues or complaints, I got them as Neuvation used to be a sponsor so I got them for a really low price.

If I were you I'd contact Psimet like the others mentioned, he can get you better hubs then the neuvations.
