TIME's stem cap removal. How?????

OK, so I am trying to pack my bike for a trip and I can't get the darn cap off the stem to get the stem out. Yes, I did loosened up the stem already and tried to pry the cap off, but it is not coming out easily. I don't want to force it in case it just "doesn't pop out".

Anyone has any ideas how this things comes off??

I looked in the TIME's website and their manual, but there is nothing there that I can see to go by. Need help with this ASAP.

aww man i want the carbon stem cap!

instead of prying the cap off have you just tried getting it off by pulling up on the stem? The last time i removed mine was to swap stems and i removed it by just pulling up on the stem a bit... well twisting the stem back and forth while pulling up which got it moving enough to where i could get a grip on the stem cap and then just pulled it out.

That was tried in attempts #2-12. From looking at the manual online, it seems like the cap simply slips in and out when the stem is loose. This one is tight as it gets. I was able to get the bike in the case without removing the stem though by simply removing the bars. Worked out great.
Thanks anyway.

FWIW, the cap is just a friction fit. If it was put it with a little grease, as the manual recommends, it ends up being held in with a bit of suction. Next time, you should be able to pry it up and then slide it out. Mines' held in quite snugly but it will move if you put enough pressure on it.

Any trip where you get to take your bike is a good one. Enjoy!
