Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Giant OCR 3

im interested in purchasing the Giant OCR 3 2004 edition. im wondering if the cloud blue version really is for a female rider only. i was told by one of the clerks at the bike shop that the cloud blue version is exactly the same as any other version of the OCR 3. Giant's website says it features "women specific ergonomic components." now, im wondering, does the cloud blue version work for a guy too or is it that it's got a version for women and there is another cloud blue version for men? any help is much appreciated. thx!!!

Come on, be a man and buy the women's version. Their official site states that the color doesn't differentiate between male and female.

You should give it a test ride. If it is comfortable, who cares if it has woman specific components. Now, if you are buying it mainly for the color, you should get a bike that fits your right and is comfortable to ride on and get it painted whatever color(s) you want.

Yeah, just don't put pink sparkley handle bar streamers on it and you will be fine.

I think it's pretty much the same. I know the frame has the same geometry as any other OCR. My LBS has a nice OCR 1 that's silver, but then they went and put pastel pink stripes on it. ?? Not cool retro hot pink, like on the t-mobile frames, but light limp pink. I just bought an OCR 2 about a month ago and I absolutely love it, so I would recommend them. If it does have women specific stuff on it, just swap it out at the store. I should think they would do that...

BTW, I like the cloud blue, looks cool...

I have the black ocr3 - really nice. It has the selle royal viper on it aswell - I'm pretty sure that the colours don't matter - I almost got sold the blue one but I found the black one somewhere else cheaper.

Other than the saddle, I dont think there are "women's specific" parts... They might be sized differently to better fit the average female rider, but if they fit you too, dont worry about it...

I believe the seat is supposedely female specific AND the bars are narrower. Frame geometry is the same.
