Floor pump please
Whats a good short/small sized and light floor pump? I will be traveling and will be taking the bump in my check in luggage. I use a joeblow right now and it works great but its a bit long a heavy. I also have an all plastic specialized pump that I can take with me but the platform has 3 footsteps instead of 2 like many floor pumps out there. I wanna get a pump that is as compact and light as possible but still perform. Thanks
eh, btw, co2 cartridges are not allowed on check in bags right? |

I keep a Road Morph in my office. I only use it sporadically so I can't give you a long term report but it pumps up to 110 pretty easily.

Silca Pista / Super Pista. Serviceable dependable gold standard. Last floor pump you'll ever need.

I use a large Blackburn at home, but in my current trip I chose to simply take a road morph I bought for that very purpose. BTW, CO2 are technically allowed in check in baggage, but tsa agents are too stupid to know it. I brough 4 in my current bike bag and they looked at it loosy and left it in place. You can always get some when you land wherever you are going. That Oenone easy thing to find. Also, if you are traveling with other riders, split the cost of a cheppo pump where you land and dump it at the end. Will be money well spent.

spectacular pump, best ever, orig leather and gauge, mine is still accurate and works great since 1976, wood handle broke in the mid 80's, got a new plastic one, the whole pump is still 'tight' and solid - but big (long, fullsize) and heavy-ish to think about puttin in flight baggage.

Specialized Airtool Comp - I've had mine for three years and it's the best floor pump I've used.

Thats for a bigger co2 cylinder, the one we use don't even have a regulator at the end, its sealed but I guess we cant bring it on because there is co2 in it. I think that link tsa page basically means that the co2 tank must be empty where as a tsa member can see inside of the tank.

Both Joe Blow Sport and Max are junk. Have used both only cause both were free. Have been impressed with Park higher end shop pump but I seem to be in the minority on that one

i have a serfas floor pump, works great.
a word of caution and a minor safety hazard --- the under side of the stand on which the pump rests is machined such that the edges are insanely sharp, i stubbed my toe on it one day and split it wide open. |
For traveling, I'd skip the floor pump and just take a road morph. That's what I do.
