Hey guys, ya i know its another wheel thread but i can't make a decision right now. Right now i'm looking at various Soul wheels and the Neuvation M28x Aero. I'm mainly looking to save some weight over the Bontrager bricks i have now, Bontragers weigh in at 2226 grams for the pair. Now my question is do i go for something lighter or something a bit heavier with more aero. I really love the way the Soul S4.0's look due to the deep profile, although for pretty much the same price i can get some Soul 2.0 low profiles that weigh in at only 1330 grams for the pair. 4.0's weigh in at 1790 grams. The Neuvations are about the same weight as the 4.0's. I'm a light guy at only 145 lbs so wheel strength isn't too high on my list as i think all of these should more than accommodate me. Now should i go for the lightest possible or heavier with more aero. As far as bang for the buck i don't think i can beat the Neuvations.
All of these will be upgrades from my Bontrager wheels so i'm gonna see benefits in weight alone, just can't decide which one to pull the trigger on. Thanks I have 3.0SL and I love them. 6 weeks from order to at my door - well worth the wait. |
6 weeks is too long for me, I have a big ride on 9/25 and 3 in October. Psimet, is it realistic you could get something to me a few days before that?
|
Hey Psimet, i contacted you last week and got your response the day after which is awesome as most people say you take awhile. I emailed you back but didn't get a response, i have no problem waiting i just wanted to see if you got it or if it got caught in your spam folder. I know your a busy man so it's all good. Also, thanks to others that have contributed to the post, still haven't decided on what wheelset to get. Leaning towards Psimet's builds as i'm not really in a rush to get the wheels so i can wait. Soul wait time is long as well.

I try to do everything via my site. Thanks for your understanding but I don't like to use BF to conduct business. Headed to the basement now to go sniff some tubular glue. I stop when the pink elephants start a mutiny....or cross season ends. whichever comes first.
|
Understood...I put my inquiry in on Aug. 18 on your site. If you have time before the glue sniffing, maybe send a quote. Or if the quote will be less, wait til afterwards. :)

I went with Rol, and Dura-Ace 7850s, will do a shoot out and sell the ones that come in second.

I ordered, and am waiting for Psimet's. Sure the email system took a couple extra days. I dont mind. I got a great price for what I wanted. I like the fact they are being made by some glue sniffing guy in his basement. |
Does anyone know if different levels of cassettes are cross compatible. Basically i'm running a 105 5600 10 speed cassette and whenever i order wheels i'm gonna purchase a new one. I notice on ribble cycles that a 105 5700 cassette is $5 cheaper then the 5600 and am gonna go that route, i just don't know if a 5700 will work on a 5600 105 gruppo. I'm sure it will but i don't want to order it and end up finding out it won't work, especially when i'm ordering from out of the states. Thanks

Also is their any big difference between an ultegra and 105 cassette, ultegra cassette is $15 more dollars and if it's better i wouldn't mind spending the extra $15. Thanks
