Cannondale Top Tube Brake Cable Clip

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cannondale Top Tube Brake Cable Clip

I have a 2001ish Cannondale CAAD2 T-400 touring bike (yeah, not a road bike but this forum seems to get the most traffic).

The rear brake cable is attached to the top tube by 3 plastic clips. The cable routes through each of the evenly spaced clips, and the clips attach to the top tube with 2 little plastic prongs.

One of the clips is damaged, another is missing, and one is in good shape.

Does anyone know if a source for replacement clips? I've searched online with no luck. I might contact Cannondale, as the bike is less than a decade old - surely they must reproduce these? They seem prone to breakage.

And yes, I could use zip ties (and will until I find replacement clips), but I'd rather not as I think they look tacky.

Go to a LBS that carries Cannondale. They probably have some of them lying around and will most likely give a couple of them to you for free. I did this when I repainted one of my old bikes a couple of years ago.

The Cannondale-dealer LBS did not have the clips (or even seem to know what I was talking about). I have zip-ties on it now...which is OK as the frame is black and black zip-ties don't stand out...but I'd like to get the clips.

Anyone know of a source?

Apparently the clips are still available from Cannondale...in case anyone else needs them, here is what Cannondale told me when I contacted them via their email customer service form:

Thanks for the mail and for your interest in Cannondale products. You can still order these guides through your local Cannondale dealer. It is part number 119315 you would need to order 3.

We hope this information is helpful.
