Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Road bike variety

So I decided to purchase another road bike to have a comparison factor of all 3 manufacturers.
I have Shimano- Dura-Ace/Ultegra, 7800/6600 respectively, SRAM Force 2010 and will be buying Campy Chorus 11 on a either Pinnerello or Specialized Tarmac frame.
So far I opt for Shimano, the smoothness and precision is a tad bit over 2010 Force.

Campy I never had except for my 1990 C Record on a Basso Lotto which I have about 5000 miles on but has been relagated to my office wall as a showpiece. Those Delta brakes are a museum piece.

Any comments on Campy Chorus and what about Centaur instead?? Don't want to go to Veloce which is Tiagra like.

Chorus is fun. The only thing I didn't like about it for the week I had it was that the thumb lever got in my way when riding on the hoods. Shifting it was nice, though; I liked having a dedicated lever for each function. Nobody mentions that the shift paddle can be held against the drops SRAM-style, either.

Between my bike's 7800/6600 mix (plus 5600 if you count the calipers ) and the SRAM and Chorus bikes I've ridden, I still think I liked SRAM better. As usual, though, none of them suck.

chorus is good, centaur is ok. if you're really considering centaur, get chorus shifters and centaur for the other parts. the good thing about campy is that the shifters are rebuildable. I thumb lever works for me.
