Clip-ins
I bought some clip-in shoes and pedals today. They are a hell of a lot nicer than the stock pedals with New Balance running shoes. Kind of took me a while to get the hang of clipping in quickly, but clipping out is a piece of cake.

Don't worry, you'll pull to a stop sometime soon, forget to clip out quickly enough, and fall over. It happened to all of us.
But also, make sure your cleat position is accurate. Even with float, being clipped in improperly can put very unwanted strain on your knees, eventually resulting in unwanted pain in your knees--or hips.
BTW, what brand/kind of pedals and shoes?

Funny to read this, I just went to clipless also and also managed to fall over the first day when opening a gate for someone... just not paying attention. It is easy to get in and out it seems once you do it enough...

They are a sort of Cannondale pedals and Pearl Izumi shoes. They are really simple to clip out of, but clipping in will take some getting used to. The shoes were around $50 and I can't remember the exact model name off the top of my head, except that they were for sale at my LBS. So far it feels good.
Also picked up another bottle holder so I can carry two bottles with me now.

We all have embarassing "clip in" moments. About 3 years ago I arrive home with my brand new Gary Fisher X-Caliber (awesome looking bike - orange with yellow rims). Anyway, all the neighbours come out for a look. Pulled to a stop doing a track stand on the drive, stationary for around 30 seconds, looking impressive then it happens. Bike falls over, can't get feet out and end up with a sprained wrist. Neighbours thought it was great!

Yo,
I've been having trouble with my feet falling asleep with my spd pedals. What is the correct way to position the cleat? I can keep on experimenting, but if someone can give me some direction that'd be great.
thanks
