Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Funny Communication With Seller

Just thought I'd share this short series of emails for your amusement. I won't tell you the name of the company, but it was too good not to share.

UrbanKnight:
What is the stem length on the Vittoria Latex tubes? Thanks.

Seller:
Hi,
Thanks for contacting us at __________.
The circumfrance of the tube is 700mm which would be the length all the way around.
Feel free to get back to us if you have any questions or concerns.

UrbanKnight:
I wanted the length of the presta valve on the tube (should be between 30mm and 60mm), not the tube itself. Thanks.
Brian

Seller:
Hi Brian,
Thanks for contacting us at __________.
I apologize for the asinine answer you received previously. The valve stem length on the Vittioria tubes that we have in stock are a 51mm. I am sorry the last representative mis-understood your question.
Feel free to get back to us if you have any questions or concerns.

"Have you worked in bicycle sales before?" "No, but I did do a stint selling toilet bowl cleaners." "Oh, then welcome aboard!"

Isn't that the length of the TdF?

You should have asked about stickers for a cracked frame.

Seller:
Hi,
Thanks for contacting us at __________.
Boy are you dumb. The stem is what holds the handlebar thingee to the thing that holds the front wheel. The tube goes inside the front wheel, or the back wheel, and hold air. You can use the Vittoria Latex tube with any length of stem you want.

Dell seriously needs to hire this guy.

Seriously.

And just about every major bank does too.

Dell never had a single employee who could accept responsibility for anything. Ever.
