Calling a 'Bike' a 'Build'

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I must admit, my current 'project' has built my patience, my component knowledge, my frustration, my negative paypal balance, my inventory of mis-ordered parts and my tolerance for other's point of view, even if I don't agree......................

the weird verb construct like "i'm loving it". why not just "i love it"

I'm annoyed by the word extreme and especially by Xtreme. and stuffed (or stuft) crust pizza - that's just trying too hard.

I assembled my 2 road bicycles from parts, including wheels. But the shifters, brakes, derailleurs and hubs came already assembled.

Perhaps this could explain why some call it a "build"

LEGO play for all

LEGO products are developed in such a way that there is something for all ages and stages of development. From kindergarten toddlers, schoolchildren and teenagers to young-at-heart adults. There’s something for everyone - whether you prefer making things up as you go or building predesigned models. You can read about the options under the various product categories.

I find it annoying that some people use the word "irregardless," and that others are annoyed by people who use "they" in the singular.

I find it fascinating that "whom" is now a ghost word, the walking undead.

Here's another: ironically

Are misuses of a word annoying? Why yes they are.

The UT ticket office is running this dopey radio ad, the first word of which is ironically, which the ad uses to describe the orange color of flowers that grew "voluntarily" on the Hill.

No, that's not irony. Duh.

That's called a gerund. It's not becoming more common these days ( think: sailing, cycling, kayaking ), and it has nothing to do with the internet or text messages. It's a feature of the English language.

I didn't mean to imply that it was a new concept, but it's frequency of use appears to be be increasing.
