50K Dollar Colnago on Ebay

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think that's the 2nd or 3rd one of those to come up in the last year. I wish I had followed the others to see if they actually sold. I guess if I just happened to have $50k laying around, there would much worse things to spend it on rather than a sweet Colnago with butterflies. Actually, call me crazy if you want, but I'd probably ride the **** out of that thing... that sure would beat mounting it on a wall or whatever its eventual owner will probably do with it.

He was trying to sell that last year. If you follow his links, I think you'll find MSRP was something like $20,000 (still way to much IMO)

Wow, that is a startlingly high tacky-to-dollar ratio.

I was going to get it but my budget is exactly 50k, I can not jump for the extra 150 to ship it.

I'm inclined to make a best offer of $50 just for giggles.

That bike gets relisted over and over. Not sure what the thinking is. Maybe just waiting for the greater fool theory to kick in. Most likely also has a house in Las Vegas that he will sell you for big bucks.

"Collectors item like this happens just once in a life time" LOL Thats the third time ive seen it for sale in the last year or 2! I love bikes, they are my life, I love Colnagos, and I absolutely hate that bike at any price. I dont care who painted it or how much detail it has, it just isnt cool and it doesnt look good.

For that money Id have an M10 and a C59 all kitted with Di2, power meters and zipps. Id blow the rest of the money at the nearest coffee shop

For an ugly woman's bike with now out-of-date components? Not.

Besides, who would spend $50K with someone who has 27 negative feedbacks in the last 12 months.

I wouldn't buy a $5 item from the guy with that kind of record...
