Wish it would cool off here! I live in south Louisiana and it is currently 92F (and humid as usual) at 6:07 p.m.

Although I notice the temps cooling down, I haven't been on a bike since mine got trashed when I was hit from behind. I'm going to a bike shop tomorrow to test ride a super six and a cr1. I'll be buying something in the next week or so and I'll ride it as long as the roads are clear and the temps aren't crazy cold. 2010 if I can find one I like my size or otherwise I'll just have to order a 2011

I've found that I can do an hour or so in some pretty cold temps if I dress for them (upper 20's to low 30's). Is it as much fun as riding in the nice warm temps with minimal clothing?, NO, but I've gone winters without riding or on a trainer though and to me it just makes the early part of the next season feel so much more like work because you lose so much fitness. I don't want to go through that again

93 degrees, 76 percent humidity, not a cloud in the sky, maybe I'm in the wrong thread

Velo Gator 09-11-10 06:47 PM

My Garmin reading from today was... max temp 107.6. I'm in the wrong place too.

Avg Temperature: 97.6 °F
Min Temperature: 87.8 °F
Max Temperature: 107.6 °F

Today was the first ride of the entire year that I had to cut short because it was TOO hot.

chadwick 09-11-10 07:08 PM

pls send cold here, k thx bye

Machka 09-11-10 07:42 PM

It's been cold .... well, OK, cool .... for months here. Temps between about 0C and 10C. I will gladly send anyone those temps if I can have something a bit warmer for a while!!

We're actually on a 4-day vacation at the coast where the temps are up around 15-18C and it's wonderful to be able to go out with fewer layers on. But it will be back to the chilliness on Tuesday.

Ohhh no ya don't. Do you really wanna start comparing blacktop temps coming off of the road here in Arizona?

Considering there might be woman and children on this forum, I'm going to spare you the horror. Lol

I'm a woman, so there's a good chance of that.

timeforheroes, you ever on harmony central music forums with the same username?

alpha_bravo 09-11-10 09:49 PM

You guys had better stop complaining. I'd kill for weather in the 50's right now. This is what I have to deal with in South Texas. It's at it's worst in the afternoon, but if you wait until 6, it's getting dark too early.

I can't wait until fall is here... all two weeks of it.

Yaniel 09-12-10 09:43 AM

i need to buy some leg warmers for this winter. 45 degrees in shorts sucked last year.

timeforheroes 09-12-10 12:39 PM

stien 09-12-10 12:49 PM

No way! I think I remember you! Aren't you from the northeast? Mass? And play a band master?

You still playing?

Haha good memory. Bandmaster is gone in favor of a Princeton however. Still a Tele, and no FX!

Clearly you don't live in the north.

Hey, I live in northern Utah and plan on riding outside as much as possible this winter. In the process of coming up with a winter bike right now. We've already had the first snow for the year on the high mountains but you can't let a little snow stop you.

Here's our front sidewalk near the end of a typical winter:

To the OP: I'd say don't wait.

Oh and go Steelers!! Just got done watching them win in overtime!

I don't envy you.

Any Steelers fan is a friend of mine. I'm going to enjoy these four games before Ben comes back.

What's the problem?

You'd be happier on a trainer.

Astonishingly and profoundly incorrect.

Hell, dealing with the Epic Conditions is half the fun.

electrik 09-12-10 03:43 PM

The colder it is the harder you can go without overheating!
