Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thoughts on this bike

I've been keeping an eye out for bikes on craigslist and kijiji and came across this bike this morning:

https://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s...AdIdZ229564126

The thing that jumped out at me was the sram cassette paired with shimano derailleur and chain. Any known issues with that type of setup?

Beyond that, given that this would be my first road bike is there anything I should check for that might not be obvious to a beginner?

A little pricey for a 2 yr. old alum frame with some lower end parts. What the exchange rate these days between US$ and Can$? If it fits, I wouldn't offer more than $500.

The cog spacing is the same, so no.
