Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Used Bianchi

Went from my old Shimano Sora bike to this 2005?? aluminum frame Bianchi for $650. Came with the SPD-SL pedals and some Shimano shoes. Good deal? I am pretty stoked about it. The older bike will make a good winter commuter.

I like it. Personally if it were my bike I would get black tires, black tape, and a matching bottle cage. I think that would look sharp.

seems a bit sacrilegious to run shimano pedal/shoes on an italian campy bike.

otherwise that's a hot setup you've got!

I'm a Bianchi guy myself sort of by default. Thousands of Ks on top of one.

Every time I needed a new road bike one (a Bianchi) just presented itself. It fit. The price was right. Had Campy. I bought it.

I also have been a Campy user for 35+ years so I'm a bit biased.

Tell us: How are you adjusting to the thumb-thingies and the lever thingies. Sora isn't 105 or better I know and the ergonomics are a little different. Like it? Miss the Shimano?

Very nice bike. Personally, I would replace the tire and use a black tire to make the frame colour stands out.

The thumb clickers are almost the same as on Sora. The only difference is that the Campy has separate paddles for up shifting whereas the Sora used the brake levers. I have a lot of trouble figuring out which direction to push the thumbs when I hit them from the drops though. It just naturally clicks when I am on the hoods, but from the drops, I always have to push them from a few different angles before I get it right.

Celeste: check
Campagnolo: check

Can't go wrong there but +1 on the black tires and matching bottle holders

You know they sold it because they couldn't figure out how to flip that stem and put some decent KEOs on it.
