I figured that would be the case, however dont really have a LBS just a darn good shop that works on bikes, so the trip to the B.D. site lured me in. And i found a few interesting bikes with triples with pretty much what i was looking for. I know its best to look at the bike and ride it, but i have found at shops around me they seem put out to let you test ride a bike. I just dont fit in to the road biker mold but do ok on my synapse and would look into another cdale but there so darn expensive and hard to get,

You might check out the Century line. They try to bill it like a Synapse or Roubaix type bike but that's mostly because of the triple. If you look at the frame is the same one as the Le Champion carbon bikes. Those are supposedly an "in-between" geometry, not fully race geometry but not as relaxed as the Synapse.

i have the grand sprint frame, I like it a lot. Its aluminum with carbon seat stays. I bouthg it off of ebay for $150 bucks presumably from someone who bought it for the ultegra group and sold the frame. You can go to bike island site and possibly get just the frame there and take your components off your synapes and really do this on the cheap.
I built it up with microshift brifters, ultegra rd and sora fd for the short term cuz i had it kicking around. I have my stock low end wheels on this bike and it weighs in at about 21lbs even.
