Anyone know the max width tire I can put on my CAAD 10?
23mm would need to be inflated to 150psi for my size... only gets reasonable around 28mm.

I've been following this thread for a while. All beauties !
Here's my CAAD9 in the BB30 version. It's in trainer mode with the R500 and an old tire at the back. I would take a better outdoor picture, but it's Canada winter here. Looking to add a decent pair of wheels for next season.

Congrads Bill and welcome to the cult. Nice looking bike,I really like the color. I got a Caad 10-5 back in november, I think you are really going to like it. I got mine at Cyclesports of Pensacola. They rock, very good customer service and they go out of their way to to help you and fit you to the bike.

Here's a preview shot for you. The wheels came in today. I'll be finishing up the build with Record 11 in the next few days. Just waiting on a few more of the tools to show up.

Thanks VP.
Prepping my CAAD for the "hot or not" thread. Lightening her up a bit.
Trying to break that 16lb floor so I can get her into the 15lb cellar.
Almost there...I'm just trying to do it while keeping a "daily rider".
That's really hard to do...going light while still being ride-able.
Don't want to go light at the expense of reliability or durability.
She should be in the high-15lb range next week.
In the final stage, easy mid-15lbs.
Probably next week I'll have new pics right after I have the following installed on her:
Dura-Ace 7800 cassette, tire/tubes combo, taking the stem down more, a little strategic painting
to tone down the bright colors left on it, half-taping the FSA K-Wing Bar. A little here, a little there.
Instead of the "murdered-out" black look I was trying to achieve, I've decided to just go with a
subdued matte black with silver highlights where it can't be helped (ders, shifters, wheels).
Final stage will be a carbon-railed Antares 00 Saddle, some bolts here & there, carbon shifter plates
and a beautiful black KMC X10SL Chain. (at least, I'd like to believe that'll be the final stage!
)
Of course, a set of 58mm plastic hoops will find their way on her as well in due time.

^^ good luck on breaking the 15lb range. By the sound of what you are doing to it you will make it. Can`t wait to see the pictures of it when you get done. Today was the first time I have road since the first of the year after getting involved (collected) in a 24mph pace line crash because of the guy in front of me. My caad is one tough bike but I didn`t want to find out that way. Only put a small chip in the paint on the front fork that I was able to touch up with some paint, also was able to true up my front wheel. Me not so lucky, just got banged up some but the ride today was a good one.

^^ hey, I read in another post you ruptured your calf muscle. Hate to hear that, was that in a crash? I hope you heal up soon so you can start riding again. I guess untill then you can lighten up your bike. If you did crash, hope you didn`t mess your caad up to much either.

It was on the job (walking up a ramp that was a little slick & wet, I turned and lost traction. My leg muscle popped. I knew exactly what it was. I was in bed for a month without being able to walk. Limped for another month (lots of pain and the pain killers made me ill). It was a hot mess. BUT, unlike the last time, where I rushed my healing which made it take longer actually, I kicked back (no pun intended LOL) and let it heal at it's own pace.
Again, the good thing is that I've had a lot of time to play with my toys.

Thanks for the concern.

[Good part, some $ came my way because of it and I'm going back into business for myself
which has been my plan for the last couple of years, only the accident facilitated earlier.]

Alright dude, glad the CAAD wasn`t hurt
I guess on the plus side you do get to lighten that baby up faster than you thought
here`s to a speedy recovery
, so you can get back on that rocket, later........

taking out my MTB, then picking up the CAAD this weekend after a makeover.
There's going to be a wicked transformation.
She's going to be "CAADass" when I'm done with her!

Sorry to ask this, but need some advice.
Been doing research for what seems like forever on a new bike, decided the CAAD10 is definitely the bike for me. Now, Rival or 105? Am I going to see any practical difference? Keep in mind, this is going to be for solo centuries, group fun rides, etc. Not racing.

No real difference in shifting quality, just try both of the out and see which one you like better. I would go with 105, but I am just used to Shimano shifting and I hate Sram now.

As for groups, I've ridden both.
I'm almost 100% certain that my next bike will be full RED.
I'm now on Dura-Ace 7800. Rival VS 105?
That's a personal preference question. Fishy said it right...you should try them both. For what you want,
I think reliability and trouble free operation would be the best features to look for (cough105cough).

Ok, I'm heading in today to give both a ride. Pretty much set on the 4, if for no other reason than because I like the two color ways better.

The 5's are available as a frameset. I ordered a black 5 and will build it with a mix of Rival, Force and Ritchey parts. In the end it'll be cheaper than buying a 4 off the rack.
edited to add: if work goes well this morning I'll be able to drive out and pick up my frame today! All the other parts are in.
