Look Keo Carbons are great. You'll dig 'em on a CAAD

Sorry for the bad pic quality. Its been sitting for to long, but currently has Red crank, 3t doric seat post, and a deda zero100 stem. I just bought some dura ace wheels as well that should be here next week. Plans are Red shifters for zero loss, force derailers, and 3t bars. I am not really sure about saddle or brakes yet. I am mixed on getting red brakes, or just some light weight brakes like planet x.

Did you buy your CAAD 10 as a frameset only? I can't find a frame only option on their website. If so, how much? I read on Bike Radar that it lists at $999.

When I move back to Baltimore, we should ride. I'll wear my cutoffs and we can talk pedals.

Yeah, I always pay $500. for $300. pedals.

And.... I'm guessing you always use periods incorrectly, too. Well done, you may now board the fail boat.

The little dots behind the numbers are decimal points. Answer the comment. Do you always pay $500. for a $300. item?

If I was committed to the purchase I would have Google shopping searched the item and checked normal websites I normally check. You could have avoided trying to be vague and prove your point by saying PBK has them for 330.00. < See what I did there with the decimal points and periods?

Wow. Not a bad deal at all. And since time is money, the fact that you were able to sell all within 24 hours makes it even sweeter.

Cool thing to pick up a frame for less than what the manufacturer is selling it by buying an entire bike.
I picked up my CAAD9 for $750. ($815. w/tax), sold off some of the bits for $200. and still have stuff left over.
So the frameset came out to about $540. (sans tax) with a wheelset leftover (along with some other components).
:D

a little off topic but on topic...

i treated you so well. rode you on smooth road, even a small bump in the road i'd slow down for you... i washed you up, gave you all the proper maintenance, you always looked brand new going out. you were my baby! and now this is what you give me in return? we haven't even been together for 3 months

basically i discovered chipped paint on chain stay (chain side) while cleaning. its about 1/16 of an inch but it looks so damn big TO me. :twitchy: i wish this was anodized like caad10. i know its inevitable that paint will chip off due to debris but why me?! just observing, does this usually happen on the drivetrain side? just hypothetically speaking, dirt may get on chain and flick off or something? :( sad... take a look..its with in the "9"

another thing i noticed back a few weeks was taking off front wheel i noticed chipped paint on fork. this appears to be on the rear of frame too. this is inevitable as well, am i correct? or was it when the bike shop built it, they didn't take their precious time and being meticulous on how sweet you need to be?

anyhow, thats my rant and please i hope yall understand...i know i know, get over it right? eventually i will but right now im devastated!

please see the attached files...

You're supposed to grind off the lawyer tabs so you don't have to constantly fiddle with your qr skewer.

zrossiter 11-09-10 07:12 PM

anyone have an idea of how much a replacement caad10 fram would be under a replacement/warranty upgrade?

hkboy313, If all it does is sit in a corner nothing will happen to it. I think all of my bikes picked up most of their 'blemishes' in the first few weeks of riding.

hi brad, your right. i've actually have over 500 miles only riding on weekends. i'd be riding more if it weren't for my arch firm and teaching afterwards... any time i have a chance i'll take it out for a spin. the truth is i love this bike because its my very first real race bike (also considering cost expenditure) but i know it will wear eventually. at least i know it hasn't affected the performance.

This. It's all character.

No-one will notice the very small mark on your chainstay - if they do, they're far too close and/or you're not riding hard enough. The other mark on the fork will be completely covered by your hub, so no big deal in my book. Keep on riding. FWIW there are already a few similar sized dings in my 10 after only ~150miles. [Shrug] bikes are supposed to be ridden right?

BmoreDrew 11-11-10 04:22 AM

Speaking of blemishes.. I have a chip on the stay as well. However, I was cleaning today and noticed my paint is very DULL on the drive side chainstay. I've only had the bike for 3 months at most. Less than 1000 miles on it, I'm sure. I do 50-100 miles a week. None the less, the whole top of the chainstay should not be dull like something ate through the clearcoat.

I've only used dish liquid on the bike. And even if- it's only in that spot (where grease will/does cake up). I tried scratching through it with my fingernail to see if it was just caked on- NO DICE. Kind of disappointed.. not sure if I should complain to Cannondale or what? like really, what will they do anyway?

The chainstay on my pos fixed I haven't washed since I bought it (3 years ago!!!!!!!) looks better. It's a damn BD bike.. if any frame of mine should have paint issues it should be the 200.00 one, not the expensive one!

Perhaps you have a clear plastic chainstay protector that's dull ? Chainstay protectors are a good idea on non-fixed bikes to protect from chain slap.

is it just me? i LOVE the look of my stuff a bit beat and worn in. makes it seem more appropriate i guess. i just hate things that are "out of the box" shiny =(
