Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The RS10s "suck"? Nobody is going to mistake them for Dura-Ace or RS80s, but as a sub-1800g wheelset, I've read some decent reviews on them. And my LBS, which would love to sell me the 303s that I tried on, has a high opinion of RS10s as a durable training/multi-purpose wheel. But I'm no expert; if you have contrary info, I'd like to know.

There are numerous reviews about how poor the RS10s are in quality. I've had two spokes break on the rear wheel within two weeks, one of which was on a century ride. Luckily it stayed true enough that I could finish the ride. I replaced the RS10s (still on warranty at the time) for the RS20s. The RS20s are a much better ride and hold up so much better. I've had zero problems with them. I wouldn't use the RS10s again if someone gave them to me for free, even as a training wheel.

From most of the pictures I see, it seems to be a really light blue, almost like a sky blue. some other pics I have seen, the bike looks more like a primary blue. So if anyone has one and can tell me what the actual color looks like in person then that would be great.

Thanks.
Hendrick81

It's not really a "sky" blue. It's bright, but the color tone is a lot deeper than a sky, or pastel, blue. In my opinion, it's a great color, and gets tons of positive comments, but I'm a little bit biased

BTW, this pic was in very bright sun, which, if anything, makes it look even brighter.

No prob. Thinking about it, if it helps at all, its very similar to the Gerolsteiner team blue that Specialized used on a lot of bikes a couple years ago

I'm 6' and come in at an even 200lbs. I had about 1200 miles on my RS10s when they started failing me.

For a given year, are all the CAAD9 frames and forks the same across models, with just the components & frame color varying ? Or do they use a higher end fork on the higher end models ?
Sorry if this is already mentioned ... didn't read the entire thread.

Frames are the same, but the higher end caad's have full carbon forks instead of just carbon wrapped.

I had a team gerosteiner tarmac in 2008, thats a nice blue. I have a caad9 4 right now that I use as a training bike. I will be picking up a nu team blue caad9 6, strip all the parts off the frame and build it up as my race bike for the upcoming season.

I will post pics of the bike next weekend when i pick it up.

I consider the 9-4 ready to race right out the box.
I can only imagine what you're going to do to that 9-6.
Give us a taste...groupset? Wheels? Cockpit? Talk!

Here's a more current shot of mine, with Thomson post, Arione Cx saddle, Ksyriums, blue bar tape. Thinking about some K wing compact bars. Wish I was thinking about SRAM Red.

Seems like the buy it now price is pretty good. In late 2008, I bought a lightly used 2008 Cannondale CAAD9-6 for around $800 shipped, which was a pretty decent deal for me.
