CAAD10 has thinner walls at targeted areas to save grams and they use tapered tubing as opposed to the CAAD9's more classic lines. Also, the CAAD10 is supposed to be more comfortable than the CAAD9.

Yes, your local Cannondale dealer should be able to order one for you. I was told $899 for the frameset (frame, fork, headset). Unfortunately, it is not available in the anodized black version as a frameset only.

No offense taken, but care to be more specific. From Cannondale's website, the geo of the 9 and 10 is the same, and then there are the changes I mentioned. They do use a different AL - 6069 (10) vs 6061 (9) but I was told that was most likely due to the different equipment in the new shops. Tubes might be formed a bit differently, thinner like 2ndGen mentioned, but not sure that is a vast difference. As for ride, everything I've read and the people I've talked to who have ridden them say no real noticeable difference in ride - at least not that an average rider would notice. Incremental changes is the typical response, not vastly different.

I did a short write up comparing the CAAD9 to the CAAD10 (based on my experience) a few pages back ... check it out.
The two bikes, next to each other, are different in other ways than mentioned above (seat stays, chain stays, tapered head tube). Some additional changes include:
-Top tube hour glass shaped/concave to provide additional knee clearance (good for the reduced q-factor when using the SISL cranks )
-Curved fork with 45-rake and full carbon steer and drop outs standard
-Asymmetrical chain stays
-Larger done tube

...and we have liftoff. Put my 2010 CAAD9-4 on layaway this morning. Got it down to $1500!!! They already had it marked down some and then gave me another 10% on top of that. I'll have it out by Spring. The wheel guy at the shop is sending me some quotes on wheel builds using Velocity Dyad rims. He recommended them over the Deep V for my application. Also recommended 36 spoke wheels. Any price differences will be in the hub.

Put another 51miles on my 10 today - longest ride to date (sadly) and it rocks. Like Crash mentioned in the other 10 thread, it rides very smoothly for an aluminum frame, but when the road gets steep, or you've gotta chase someone down it just responds. Digging this bike more and more.

Would you say that it does what the 9 does, but better?
And if so, how much better?
Thanks.

Can't help there as I didn't own a 9 - Crash had a pretty nice couple of paragraphs in the other thread - paraphrasing - lighter, stiffer, more compliant etc.

My brother-inlaw paid for his 56cm rival caad10 in September and it still hasn't arrived yet. The anticipation is killing us both.
It's looking like my cycling team will either be on the caad10 or supersix next season to replace our storcks from last year.
