what's up with all the compacts...

read euro rule below.

31. Gearing shall be restricted to a titanium Campy Record 11-23 cassette with a ABSOLUTE MINIMUM of 42-53 up front. One must never be seen pedaling at a cadence greater than 90 rpm in order not to detract from one’s calm/smooth factor, or “Suplesse.” The use of 25-toothed cog is acceptable for severely mountainous training situations.

I was going to opt for a standard rather than a compact but then I figured, 1. I am not in need of a standard double right now and 2. I will eventually upgrade my crankset and at that point switch it to a standard

Post your weights! :D

My Caad7 may not be the lightest at ~15lbs, but it's probably the lightest budget-build.

Crash716 04-05-11 08:23 PM

mine is 14.4 in race trim...

2ndGen 04-05-11 09:11 PM

Oh yeah! Build sheet with those weights please? :D And pics would be nice.

Thanks. Selle has a new saddle that comes in at 115g.
That would knock off 85g off my current saddle.
And, that's ridiculously light for a saddle with actual padding on it.

see...i would rather just take a piss before the ride or eat smaller portions from time to time than ride on a stick covered in leather...or pay the money for a seat with no real padding to it, although if i was going for one of those kind of seat it would be the SLR...

I didn't want a compact, but Helens only had one caad9 1 left in my size and I couldn't pass it up at only $1995. Plus I already had plans to swap out the FSA cranks for 7900 DA cranks.

I don't get why they even bother with the leather, it adds weight and defeats the purpose of a minimal saddle. The should just offer the C64 at a lower price and be done with it:

i'll sacrifice weight for comfort and function if it gets me 1st place in a race :P no but seriously, to think i'd ever win any...

Thanks. Yeah, the original logo looked like a fat pimple on an otherwise beautiful woman's nose. Now, IMO, the CAAD is "perfect". http://cache2.hyves-static.net/image...ley_hearts.gif

Will have pretty new pics in about 3 weeks... Just ordered my wheelset. 15 days build time and then shipping from Las Vegas to Fort Wayne... I'm a big feller, so no weight weenie stuff for me. Velocity Deep V's, lime green, black spokes/nipples, black White Industries hubs, 36 spokes F/R... Should hold up great while I keep losing pounds and will look amazing on my BBQ Black Caad9 with SRAM Rival/Force... I'll be changing out the bar tape to match. No more white tape, probably going with the green Lizard Skins tape. It's currently got blue speedplay X-1 pedals on it so I'll be swapping those out for some Team Green Speedplay zeros (Chromoly, which have black spindles)
