I should be getting my first pair of Sidi's(Dominator 5's) anyday now, as my current craptacular Shimano are finally falling arpart and killing my feet. I ride Gaerne Eskimo's in the winter)
How's that Shower Pass Elite 2.0? I was looking @ that as a new winter hardshell.

I have a good pair of Sidis and an old cheap pair that I keep saying that I'll wear in the rain.
But I never do. I just keep wearing my good ones.

Last years 6.6 here. The retention device initially worked very well for me, much better than both an 05 Genius and Dominator. 2k later both sides are maxed, and the right has a bit of slip, but not too bad. Your feet will vary.

Your shoe collection is worth more than my bike collection.

Thanks, I will wait until I find a pair on sale at PBK and go with the 6.6s. I didn't really want to pay more than $200 for shoes, but if I want 6.6s they will probably be closer to $300.

Two of that pricey top of the line road show, one 5 year old pair of the cheaper carbon sole shoes that are still serviceable, and two pairs of the Hydro gore tex winter shoes (just got another pair, haven't even worn them yet). I buy them from PBK. Just paid $180 or so for the new winter shoes, paid $240 or so for that top of the line pair that retails here for $500.
Discuss.

Got my first pair of Sidis recently...a barely used pair of Raiden (bottom of the barrel).
$49. delivered to me. Practically new. Once I rode in them, I knew I'd never go "below" Sidi for shoes.
They were so far ahead of my Sette Ximos (which I bought for $39. and sold for $35.
a few days ago also practically new since I only had about 3 rides on them).
For MTBing, I use Shimano MT41 (great shoes for Trail/AM riding).
On my hit list:
Ergo 2 Lites Vernice Black
Hydro GTX
+ of course a set of W-Tex covers for them and insoles
(Superfeet? Louis Garneau? Any suggestions welcomed.)
I wrangled a deal for someone once...a pair of Ergo 2's
in his size for only $99. (steel lux I think?)
I should get his first-born for that!

Sidi, I have a pair, my wife has a pair. Nice shoes. Five pairs, it kinda sounds like a Carrie, Imelda Marcos girlie thing, or if you are a guy, it starts with an f, then has an a, then two g''s and ends with a y kind of thing.

If I cared what any of you weenies thought, it still wouldn't matter.
But I don't, it still doesn't, and you should all be ashamed of yourselves to responding to this mindless drivel.
Carry on.

But, New York pay affords one as many pairs of Sidis as they desire.

The thing is I have never paid even close to retail for any of them.
I had the Genius 5 and Dominator 5 shoes and liked them. Then I had the chance to pick up the Genius 6.6 on a special deal where someone was importing directly from Italy - so I bought 2 pair and thought "I'll never need to buy another pair of shoes".
They have been so comfortable ( and very cheap) that when the same guy offered me a chance to get into his deal again this year I picked up two pair of Ergos 2's. At a price that was frankly silly cheap.
I had picked up the Energy 2's and Dragons in the interim. Most of them are in the cupboard and I truly " never have to buy another pair of shoes as long as I live"
