Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hi,
I am going to get some pedals with adjustable Q. Looks like I am limited to either the Impact or the CX. Looks like the Impact is a lot cheaper. Has anyone tried these pedals? Thanks.

I've got CX-6's and love them. I've ridden Looks for years now and was always annoyed by the incessant squeaking that they are known for. But I don't have that with the CX's. I theorize that it has to do with the carbon pedal body as opposed to metal in their other pedals, but I don't know for sure. At any rate, I've had them since last spring and they've been great. Very smooth, nice and light with Look's usually solid pedal/cleat interface and big contact area.

I ride Impacts after having ridden Looks (247s). Love them, feel much more securely locked into them then the Looks. Biggest problem is that replacing the cleats costs a bunch if you have to buy them through a shop.

I ride the impacts and like them, previously I had 1990 Time Ti-mags, nothin lasts forever. After destroying my knees with some of the early looks I switched to time and haven't looked back. All the pedals have improved but I'm not willing change brands.

Look float cleats do wonders, but I'm just like you. I switched to Looks from SPD's when I was about 17 and have stuck with them for the last 11 years. And they do get better over time...

I'm I the same boat as you trying to find new pedals and have come down to these two pluse eggbeaters (could have the same pedalls on my MTB). I am at this point leaning to the Looks mostly because of two things they are the style I currently have and replacement cleats are cheap.
