Ultimate Velo Suck

My nightmare is complete. NY Mets cycling kits. God help us all now. Me wearing that stuff on a bike would be like a Perfect Storm of Suck.

guadzilla 09-23-10 03:41 AM

1st (variation of ****)

patentcad 09-23-10 03:44 AM

I wish the Mods could lock down the Mets. And maybe ban them.

The Mets lock themselves down every year without any external help.

I'm not falling for the pcad reverse psychology trap. You want us all to say, "No Pcad. You don't really suck. You are our velogod." Like we are stupid enough to fall for that old chestnut.

No, I want to whine about the Mets and I want the rest of you to all go eff yourselves.

achoo 09-23-10 03:55 AM

Safest kit on the planet - any driver seeing you wearing it will feel sorry for you and give you extra space. Think about how you'd treat a Down's Syndrome 9-year-old with Tourette's who'd been dropped on his head at birth.

coasting 09-23-10 03:56 AM

That's ok then. You do suck. I don't have personal knowledge but people in the know say so and I prefer to believe them.

coasting 09-23-10 03:58 AM

This is really weird. Why would a baseball team be on a cycling kit? It sounds to me like shameless promotion. Nothing wrong with merchandising but it has to be related. This makes me think the NY Mets is one of these corporations that has forgotten its roots and who they are.

Manchester United....football version. No offence, rodiejorge. Well, just a bit.

FreddyV 09-23-10 04:05 AM

I've seen basketball stuff around as well. Like I'm willing to ride around with a Chicago Bulls jersey. As if...

roadiejorge 09-23-10 04:48 AM

You're a baseball fan flagellant. Find your baseball zen and know that for the most part your season will end in tears, if however the team manages to extend the pain into the post season there is a strong likelihood that more misery will be bestowed by the likes of the Braves in the form of some embarrassing series sweep. Make your peace with these truths, go on a pilgrimage to Pityfield where at least now you can enjoy a Shake Shack burger for your trouble. I would feel some compassion if it weren't for your team having the dumbest mascot EVAR:

No, that'd be a Lions kit. Oh wait, then they'd just run me over to put me out of my misery.

RUOkie 09-23-10 06:32 AM

I think that pcad is mr. Met. Think about it. Have you ever seen them in the same place at the same time?

You'd have to pay me to buy another vomax kit.

hehehe I like that pic....and remember, we got Deathstar!
;)

I remember going to Yankees games in the 80s when they were rubbish so it wasn't always good being a Yankees fan; the only fun to be had was heckling the hell out of the opposition players and let me tell you the Bleacher Creatures were a tough crowd.

You saw me on the road this morning so yes I'm feeling better and have been commuting to work since Tuesday, feels nice to be back in the saddle. Hope the ride north was fun, I wish I could have joined you guys.

Come on now, you're a Mets fan so I can understand your dislike of anything Phillies but their mascot is actually pretty funny along with the San Diego Chicken. Mr Met isn't funny though, at least not intentionally.

If we had to compare NY baseball teams to Prem clubs then the Yankees would be equivalent to United and the Mets would be Citeh. The similarites extend to their success too since the Yankees have won loads of championships and the Mets just two; Yanks are the favorite child and the Mets are the red headed step children. Oh, and be nice coasting....one word for you: Berbatov.

patentcad 09-23-10 07:51 AM

What, you've never seen the Yankees Mascot?

I don't like the crowd at Yankee Stadium for a while now, the people who used to go before the Yanks started winning again were much better.

guadzilla 09-23-10 09:46 AM

Sorry, did we get to 21 posts about baseball? Talk about insanely boring non-sports.

What next, a heated debate on the upcoming Ashes?

I can't watch baseball, because I have a pulse. Any "sport" that involves people standing around on the grass, waiting for something to happen, reminds me of people in silly clothes driving around chasing golf balls. It's a little bit like curling, but less funny.

slowandsteady 09-23-10 11:09 AM

Go Phillies!!!!!

10 for their last 10.
Lead the NL East by 5 games.

The Mets mailed it in 2 months ago.... a little earlier than usual.
