It's no big deal. The JB has been and still is a fine pump. But when the time comes, I'll consider an Air Tool or Lezyne (hadn't heard of that brand before reading this thread).

sometimes you need to see something in action. i have seen the lezyne mini pump in action when i helped someone on the side of the road and i was seriously impressed.

I just ordered the Lezyne Classic Floor Pump. Got it over the Steel as the steel has nylon threads on the fitting that attaches to the flippable aluminum valve head and thought the nylon could strip more easily with frequent flipping as I do for the variety of tires I have in the garage.

my budget is about $40..
so there are two options:

(1) http://www.amazon.com/Lezyne-Steel-F...=1X75QJNO2UXQN
(2) http://www.amazon.com/Blackburn-AirT...=1X75QJNO2UXQN

lazyne steel has good reviews.. but comes with 2year warranty.
blackburn comes with lifetime warranty.

lifetime warranty vs. steel made...
any opinion?

I've been using Serfas FP-200. It has been great so far.

Lezyne hands down.

I may be the only person to have had a problem with a Lezyne. The gauge on the steel model broke after just a few uses. The screw on valve was a little fiddly, but once it's on, it's on. No popping off. The pump seemed to be a quality product. I took it back to REI for a refund but I may get another one.

I ordered a Topeak JoeBlow Turbo. It just came today and I have it sitting here waiting for it to warm up. Been sitting most of the day outside in -13 F temperatures.

I figured out Serfas FP-200 floor pump also comes with lifetime warranty.

my options are now :

(1) http://www.amazon.com/Lezyne-Steel-F...=1X75QJNO2UXQN
(2) http://www.amazon.com/Blackburn-AirT...=1X75QJNO2UXQN
(3) http://www.amazon.com/Serfas-FP-200-...=1X75QJNO2UXQN

Those are $40 range ones..
Lifetime warranty on pump...is it worth?

If it breaks they give you a new one...No questions, No problems.

from http://www.serfas.com/warranty.asp
"Serfas offers a limited lifetime warranty to the original purchaser of Serfas lights and pumps. This warranty only covers manufacturer’s defects and does not include normal wear and tear - including product that has been ran over, sat on, dropped off a cliff, lost or stolen."

"warranty only covers manufacturer’s defects and does not include normal wear and tear"

I'd better have a nicer pump (than a "limited" lifetime warranty or) with a limited lifetime warranty..
(Of course, it is always good to have lifetime warranty as an extra feature. :-) )

I had a cap on the bottom of the pump go missing inside my garage.
Went to the LBS to see if they might have a cap.

They handed me a new pump.

No Paper Work.

It replaced the 20 yr old Schwinn floor pump which is best suite for low pressure mtb tires these days. I would recommend the Bontrager....it's awesome.

+1 The Super Charger is a stout mfer, we used one in the shop for 3+ years and I believe it's still going strong.

TMonk 02-09-11 02:11 PM

seungjin 02-11-11 10:14 PM
